When purchasing a Patriot Travel Plan on-line, you will receive an email confirming your purchase. When applying for Global Medical Insurance on-line, you will receive an email confirming that your application has been received. The underwriting process to determine eligibility will begin upon receipt of your on-line application. |

You may have to pay up front for medical care depending upon the medical facility being used. If the medical facility requires payment up front, you can later submit a claim for reimbursement. In many cases, 911Abroad works with the hospital or clinic as an accommodation for direct payment of eligible medical expenses on your behalf. |

No, you are not restricted to a network of doctors if you are insured under the Patriot Travel Medical Insurance plan. Under the Global Medical Insurance Plan, there is a PPO Network available for care received within the US and utilizing this network could significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. |

Yes. Prior to your effective date, you may cancel your insurance and receive a premium refund. The insurance company must receive your written request prior to the effective date of coverage. |

Travel Medical Insurance plans are designed for people who are traveling for short periods of time, less than one year, while the Global Medical Insurance plan is an annually renewable insurance certificate. Patriot Travel Medical Insurance is not as comprehensive in coverage as the Global Medical Insurance plan. |

Pre-existing conditions are not covered under the Patriot Travel Medical Insurance plan. After 24 months of continuous coverage, Global Medical Insurance provides a US$50,000 lifetime benefit for eligible pre-existing conditions that existed at or prior to the effective date, subject to a maximum of US$5,000 per period of coverage. |
