Travel Scenarios
Scenario #1:
A young man took the summer to travel the European countryside for 3 months. He did not have travel medical insurance. He was hit by a car while crossing a road and suffered serious head injuries. He was admitted unconscious to intensive care and required highly sophisticated care until he was able to be flown back to the US. He was still unconscious and was returned home on a stretcher. The cost to the family for the medical evacuation alone was $60,000. They were forced to take out a second mortgage on their house to raise the necessary funds.
1st Recommendation:
Patriot Extreme International provides coverage for US citizens traveling abroad for a minimum of 30 days up to a maximum of three months.

Scenario #2:
While in Australia, 7 Americans were injured in a mini-van accident. One of the 7 individuals was killed as a result of the accident and the other 4 were seriously injured. Fortunately, all 7 had arranged for group travel medical insurance prior to their trip. The cost to bring back the deceased person was in excess of $ 7,000 and the Repatriation benefit included in the group's medical insurance took care of this cost. The others who received medical treatment overseas for their injuries, returned home to the states where they continued to submit their mounting medical bills to the international insurance company under the provision for extended benefits.
2nd Recommendation:
Patriot Group Travel Medical Insurance would be the best product for this group. Whether your group is traveling for vacation, missionary work, or temporary business, 911Abroad can provide high quality travel medical insurance at affordable prices for groups of 6 or more.

Scenario #3:
A man who was traveling the countryside of Mexico for 15 days , was hit by a car while riding a motorcycle late at night. He sustained a badly fractured leg and other internal injuries and was taken to the nearest local hospital. It was very late at night and no one in the hospital was available who could speak or understand English very well. The injured man was able to contact the insurance company where a Spanish speaking representative was able to verify insurance benefits on the man's behalf and he was able to immediately receive the necessary treatment . It was also requested that the insurance company send the payment for claims incurred directly to the provider in Mexico which the company was able and happy to do.
3rd Recommendation:
Patriot Travel Medical Insurance would be the best product for this individual. This product is for travelers that will be traveling a minimum of 10 days and a maximum of one year.

Scenario #4:
A woman took a year to travel across the Caribbean. Her family was so thankful that she had secured travel medical insurance before her trip. The woman fell and broke her back and her injuries were life threatening. She had to be evacuated to Miami in order to secure adequate treatment. The medical evacuation alone cost over $40,000. Thankfully, the insurance included an Emergency Reunion benefit, which paid for the travel expenses of her father who flew to Miami to join his daughter in her time of need.
4th Recommendation:
Global Medical Insurance is a long-term, annually renewable, US-style major medical insurance plan designed to provide worldwide coverage to non-US citizens and US expatriates. The plan contains a medical evacuation and emergency reunion benefit.
